Pelosi, Biden & Lamont and the Hypocrisy of Gun control

English Jurist and Jewish Law expert John Selden (1584-1654) introduced the phrase,

“Do as I say, not as I do.”

when he wrote a treatise on preaching, making light of the behavior of the preachers of his day. Fast forward to 2022, and this same idiom has as much value now as it did four centuries ago. The problem, however, has become far more exacerbated today as most folks in society don’t tend to recognize the hypocrisy of speech and practice. Sadly, most people become star-struck by celebrities, politicians, and people with billions of dollars. Once they make it to one of those levels, we tend not to hold them accountable for practicing what they preach. We become compliant with their blatant hypocrisy. At times we often condone and defend it.

I don’t have the patience or time to expound on how dishonest Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been throughout her three-and-a-half-decade-long political career.

That would require volumes. Let’s focus on one thing here, gun control. First, the very sound of that disturbs me. Just think, is it guns that we need to control, or do people, human beings need to control themselves, their emotions, and ultimately their actions?

We’ve been programmed to believe that the idea of gun control or denying Americans their 2nd Amendment rights will mysteriously change the hearts of criminals and make our communities safer.

Making stricter gun laws will not make anyone safer but instead produce the opposite results. Nancy Pelosi has pushed hard for gun controls on the senate level, yet she knows that she hasn’t read one shred of evidence proving that anything will change for the better by implementing these draconian measures. All of her rhetoric concerning gun control is purely politically motivated and does not include the best interest of the American people.

Ironically, Mrs. Pelosi has Capitol Police everywhere she goes. The Capitol Police are armed with Glock 22s. That doesn’t seem to be a problem for her because she believes it’s all right for her to have gun protection for her safety, just not yours. This is hypocrisy. President Joe Biden has a lifelong assignment of secret service to protect him from criminals and people who may have mental instabilities wanting to harm him. Again, it’s okay for him to have armed protection from some of the most skilled shooters on the planet. Yet there’s a problem, a political problem, a far-left problem with law-abiding Americans protecting themselves and their families in the same way.

Biden once admitted, “gun control will not work.” But now he’s changed. We must begin to challenge this double standard.

If gun protection is wrong, then our U.S Senate and our President should give up their right to gun protection.

That would seem like the most ethical and fair response from the one advocating for gun control. Wouldn’t it? I’m fed up with the brainwashing and mind control over the masses of people, driven by fear and even more so by lies.

What do St. Louis, Baltimore, Detroit, Cleveland, and Newark all have in common? These cities have the highest murder rates in the United States. Ironically, these same cities also have the strictest gun laws in the United States. According to Biden/Pelosi’s logic, those cities should be the safest cities on the planet. It’s just the opposite. The reason why it’s the opposite is that fewer guns don’t make a city safer; it makes it worse. The reason for their high murder rate has nothing to do with guns. Most sociologists of high reputation will tell you that crime has always been a societal issue, stemming from many familial roots.

The reasons for criminal offenses that often lead to death are connected to high unemployment rates, poverty, and gang and drug-related bloodshed. We will only begin to see progress when our elected officials start telling us the truth, not fear-driven jargon. Furthermore, if politicians want us to follow their words, they should be the first to walk the walk that they talk.

I’m not willing to abandon my 2nd Amendment rights for no one, especially the political “preachers” telling me to do what they’ll never do themselves.
